USFS Releases Interactive Visitors Map

Posted July 16, 2016 / Last Updated February 18, 2022

USFS Interactive Visitors Map

The United States Forest Service recently released an interactive visitors map that allows visitors to search for campsites, recreational activities, and forests. You can zoom into specific areas to see what amenities and activities are offered.

The maps can be printed, shared, or you may create a geo pdf all via the tools icon in the toolbar.

The toolbar can also be used to search accessibility info, camping & cabins, hiking, biking, pack & saddle, trailhead, picnicking, outdoor learning, nature viewing, fishing, water, highway legal, OHV >50 inches, ATV/OHV <= 50 inches, and dirt bike trails.

According to the USFS website, “Visitor Map 2.0, provides the public with an online view of Forest Service roads, trails, recreation sites, wilderness areas, and wild & scenic rivers.”

This is great news for outdoor enthusiasts! It now makes trip planning that much easier and also always to find new places to explore with just a click of a mouse.

You can find the new interactive visitor map here.
