The school year is finally over and all of my children have moved onto the next grade level. I’m a proud parent of a 10th, 7th, 4th, & 2nd grader! I, myself, graduated college this year. It’s been a long process and I am happy that is it finally over.
My children are leaving for the summer :( Their dad will soon be here to pick them up. He is driving all the way from Fort Hood and should be here in the morning. This will be the first time ever that they have been away from me for longer than a week and the 3rd time to ever be away from me. I am very nervous, but at the same time, I am looking forward to finally having some “me” time after 15 years of raising children.
Me and my husband will be spending our summer traveling. We will begin in The Caribbean, come home, and then travel to New York City for a couple of days, then it is off to Richmond, Virginia so he can “cash” in on one of his Father’s Day presents (Richard Petty Driving Experience), then it’s off to Indianapolis, Indiana to watch the NASCAR Brickyard 400. We will make it back home just a few short days before the kiddos arrive back home on August 1st.
It will indeed be a busy summer and a much-needed vacation. I just hope that I don’t spend it all crying and calling my children every couple of minutes!
