I am always on the hunt for a good pair of leggings to hike in. I kept seeing POP Fit leggings ads in my Instagram and Facebook feed (that should have been a red flag), so I decided to try out their “try a pair, just pay shipping” deal. Problem is that they do rope you into buying other items if you are not careful. I apparently have no self-control over a “good deal” as I ended up purchasing other items as well.
What I am Reviewing
My “free” pair from POP Fit was the Stella in Black/Pink/Dark Pink, I also bought a Lelani Tank, Jane Crop, and they had a “deal” for their POP No Show Briefs, so I purchased that too.
Additionally, I also purchased the exchange protection for $6.99 (otherwise you have to pay for shipping to return any items you may want to exchange).
The main feature that turned me on to the POP Fit leggings is the fact that they have dual pockets, are supposed to be squat proof, and looked (according to the pictures in their ads and on their site) to fit a wide range of body types.
I used the POP Fit sizing charts in order to determine the size I needed to order. For reference, I am 5′ 9″, 200 lbs, and wear a size 12 in U.S. sizes. Waist is 35″, Hips 44″, and my bust is 36 DDD or 44″. I typically wear an XL in women’s shirts or L in Unisex or Men’s shirts.
According to their size chart, I would need a Large in leggings and an XL in tops. This is on par with other clothing line sizes. It says the inseam length on their leggings “will stretch to accommodate inseams between 30″ – 36″ due to our specially formulated fabric” (it does not).
What They Claim
This is directly off of the POP Fit website:
All POP Fit Leggings Feature:
- Fabric: Call it magic; our signature four-way stretch, poly-spandex fabric is designed to tailor itself to you! Wash after wash, POP Fit maintains its shape, color and will be your forever go-to (est. 92% poly/8% spandex).
- Compression: Light compression for ultimate comfort wherever you go, while still keeping you secure and supported.
- High-Waisted: Every style is high-waisted and sits around your natural waist. Or fold over for a mid-rise.
- Not See-Through: Jump, squat, bend – rest assured we got you covered! As our styles are knit fabric, we still recommend nude or like colored undies for lightest colored styles.
- Stitching: Flat seams on every stitch, no itch and no chaffing.
- Stays in Place All Day: Leggings will not slip or sag.
- Breathability: Tight-knit fabric offers breathability and is designed to dry-quickly.
- Structured Back: Features double rows of curved stitching to contour the natural lines of your body, defines shape and provides a secure fit.
- Waistband: Wide waist band to smooth your mid-section w/ an inner band for reinforcement. Designed to stay in place but not compress uncomfortably.
What I Liked
Dual Pockets – Pockets on each leg are literally the only thing good about these leggings. Each pocket was deep and can easily hold a phone (in my case an iPhone 11 Pro).
What to Improve
Fabric – The fabric is super stiff and itchy/scratchy. Looking at it you would think it would have more “give”, but it doesn’t. It feels horrible against the skin and limits your range of motion. UPDATE: The exchanged capri length one had more give in the fabric. This leads me to believe the blend of fabric varies per batch, basically it is inconsistent.
Not for those of us who are tall – I am 5′ 9″ and these leggings are more of a long Capri length. The size chart states the inseam for leggings is 36″ (it is not).
Squat proof they are not! POP Fit leggings are not squat-proof. They do not stay in place assuming you can manage to even move in them (due to their stiffness your range of motion is very limited), however, they are not see-through (at least with the print versions).
Received a “dirty” item – The POP Fit black capris I received had white stuff all over them. What the white stuff is, I have no idea! I contacted the company with several pictures and was instead told “Please note that all of our items are sent in new condition, with tags attached, and must pass a 3 point inspection prior to shipment. Should your tag remain attached to your legging, we are more than happy to offer an exchange so that we can inspect it.”
Mind you, all I did was try them on. Tags were still attached (and it showed that in the picture). Notice how they said they would need to “inspect it”?
From other reviewers, they too sent back items and were never sent replacements or refunds because upon “inspection” the company determined the customer was at fault, and according to their policy “If your return was denied for any of the following reasons your package will not be re-shipped to you. If your return was denied your items will be destroyed due to health concerns”. So, just something to keep in mind.
Customer Service – What a headache! The only way to contact them is through email. It takes a day or longer for them to respond. They send you around in circles. It is complete chaos trying to deal with them! I almost wasn’t able to start the exchange process because I was leaving to head out of town for 2 weeks and they require items to be returned within 30 days of THEM shipping it to you (not 30 days from receipt and it takes over a week just receive them, see my timeline below).
They eventually offered me an exception after I could not get a return label to generate with the form that they sent me to (you would click “print label” and it would open the printer dialogue and it would only print that page, no label, and there was no label on that page).
They ended up emailing me a label while I was on vacation. After reading all the reviews about customers returning items for exchange and never receiving the replacements back, I am super concerned about sending these items in as that would put me out $45 if they did not send the replacements. See my timeline of my interaction with them below. UPDATE: I did receive my exchanged items.
Overall Impression of POP Fit Leggings
Pretty disappointed overall. The POP Fit leggings are stiff and scratchy, not comfortable to wear at all. I couldn’t imagine wearing them hiking or working out. They were irritating just trying them on. They DO NOT stay in place and the black ones are super unflattering, showing every single fat cell you have. The Stella ones, the print looked great and were flattering but are not made for tall girls (and of course still had that issue of them being stiff and scratchy).
I’m 5’ 9” and these might of well have been capris. The tank is a complete joke. I’m an XL but their XL fits more like a medium. UPDATE: I exchanged it for an XXL which fit normal. So size up when ordering a top. The only decent item is the panties and I would only give those 3 stars. They feel great, do well not showing through leggings, but the leg opening is horrible and feels tight until they have been worn for a while.
If they would use a higher elastic content in their fabric blend, be more honest with their description of products, and have better customer service, these could be really good leggings. But as of now, I’ll pass on ordering anymore!
Buyer Beware
I should have looked up all the reviews on POP Fit (not on their site or social media accounts as others claim that they delete all bad reviews) before purchasing. You can read a lot of reviews on Reddit and on the BBB website.
Also, I noticed that if you decide to leave a review on their website that it does not post immediately. Instead, the form goes to the company and before you can send it you agree to allow them to change the wording of the review at their discretion.
Something else worth mentioning is their employee reviews that are on indeed. This one really caught my eye and makes me wonder if the white stuff on my Capris may have actually been mold:

August 4, 2021 – Order delivered via USPS

August 7, 2021 at 11:46 AM – Received reply back from POP Fit:
We are very sorry to hear that you did not like your item(s). We take tremendous pride in the design and quality of our products. As a growing brand, we really appreciate your feedback. While we do our best to provide an accurate Size & Fit Guide, as each body is different, we cannot guarantee a perfect fit for everyone. It is for this reason we offer our Free Leggings, Just Cover S&H offer, so customers can see what size or styles work for them. We will pass your concerns on to our design team, and if we can assist you in potentially exchanging your items, please let us know!
August 8, 2021 8:51 AM – Responded to their reply:
While I did take part in the free leggings, I also purchased additional items at check out due to “discounted pricing that popped up”. How do I go about exchanging the “tank” for something else since it is a crop top on tall women and not a tank? The black capris need to be replaced due to you sending me an obviously used pair (I can only assume that was the reason for all the white marks on them).
August 9, 2021 1:36PM – Received a response from POP Fit:
Please note that all of our items are sent in new condition, with tags attached, and must pass a 3 point inspection prior to shipment. Should your tag remain attached to your legging, we are more than happy to offer an exchange so that we can inspect it. Can you confirm that the tag remains attached to the Jane Crop?
August 9, 2021 1:53PM – Responded to their reply and included pictures showing the tag is still attached along with more pictures of the white residue/markings.
August 10, 2021 2:36 PM – POP Fit responded with the following:
Thanks for confirming!
TANK EXCHANGE
We are so sorry however, due to how our system processes exchange orders, we are only able to provide an exchange for the same category of item as those originally purchased (Crops for Crops, Shorts for Shorts, etc.) If you would like to exchange your Lelani Tank for another item in our Tops section on our website, please let us know!
EXCHANGE
Can you please confirm all the items you are looking to exchange so that we may assist you further? Once confirmed, we will send exchange information immediately.
August 10, 2021 3:56 PM – I responded to their reply:
Well, the Jane Crop definitely needs to be exchanged since it arrived with white marks on it. We can exchange that in the same size for the Stella Crop in BLACK / BLUE / DARK BLUE. The Lelani Tank can be exchanged for the same thing, in the same color but a size bigger. I will be leaving in the morning at 10 am to catch a flight as I am headed out on vacation and will not return until August 23rd (late), so if these need to be mailed in before I head out I will need a prepaid label before then, otherwise I will not be able to mail them out until August 24th.
August 11, 2021 12:18 PM (after I had already left!!!!) – Their reply to me:

August 11, 2021 1:59 PM – Responded letting them know that there was no label to print after filling out the form and that I am on vacation and will not be back until the 24th and would not be able to mail the items out until then since they take 24 hours to reply to emails I did not get that in time and of course, there was also no prepaid label. This would put it over their 30 day return policy (which started from the day they mail you the items, not the day you receive them).
August 12, 2021 12:17 PM – Their response:
No worries, we’ve attached your label here for your convenience! We will be happy to offer this one-time exception to accept your return outside of our 30-day window so long as the package is shipped to us anytime before August 30th, 2021. Wow. Such a bad, horrible, awful, terrible company. Good to know.
Tara Skutca says
I find their leggings to be quite comfortable and very stretchy. The printed leggings anyway. I have 4 pair now I think. Although the black solid crop I got fit a bit tighter than the rest. And Their tops are way too small/short though to be comfortable for bigger women that they claim to cater to as well. So I stay away from those lol. They look wayyyy too short/small on the plus size models, so I know they would not work for me or anyone who likes average/longer length tops, especially for exercise.

I think you should go see your doctor, honestly, like the photo shows mold. Can’t even say it’s sterilizing powder, we don’t do that to clothes. I’d get a gyno check just saying Mrs. Muffin ;)
Amanda says
Yes!!! I thought maybe I just received an off pair or something. Their ad showed that these were so soft and stretchy. I did order the ” free ” pair. I should have known by the no return policy that they knew that these were going to be terrible and they didn’t want them back. They are stiff and scratchy and not breathable and incredibly tight. If I had ordered my true size they never would have even fit me. I ordered one size up so they did fit but they were extremely tight and had no stretch whatsoever. They include a link where you can provide a review but if you go to that page at the bottom they even say it’s up to them which reviews they post which is why they are all five star reviews, and they are people trying to become brand ambassadors on Instagram so of course they say good things. I felt their ad was really deceiving and their reviews are also really deceiving. It’s all about getting a subscription but if they wanted a subscription based on what they sent me they are crazy. I can get better leggings for $5 at Walmart

I 1000000% agree. I need to actually update this post. I originally gave their panties 3 stars and need to downgrade those as well. They started falling apart within months. The entire line of products is just as horrible as their customer service.
Helen says
Interesting. Seems like a lot of trouble to send back their Merch.
Eleanora Robinson says
I didn’t got my order, from a month and half ago

Wow! that’s a shame! Hopefully you can dispute it with your credit card company.
