Loving this Spring weather and to celebrate we went to the farm this past weekend (my Mom’s house in West Virginia up in the mountains). Rode some 4 wheelers and did some target shooting. I finally got to shoot my new shot gun and Jerry got to sight in his new rifle. I shot that too! LOL.
My husband saw a side to me that he has not seen before. I know that now as an adult and mother I seem like a girly girl, and the last thing this girly girl would know how to do is any kind of hiking. I wasn’t always a girly girl. I was quite the opposite.
I rode on the back of a 4 wheeler with him (I just wasn’t up to driving one this time, as I wanted to take pictures with my new camera, lol). We rode to the falls. However, in order to actually get down to the falls you have to hike your way down a rather steep incline, and to get back up you have to basically climb back up.
Well, I wanted better pictures. Time for a hike! Jerry went first trying to be the gentleman putting his arms out as if to catch me, and telling me how to get to the bottom of this cliff (as I watch him almost fall several times).
Finally I had to tell him to move. I went into a squatting position, dug my heels into the side of this mountain, used my hands for stability and slid on down. He looked at me in amazement. It was rather cute. I wiped my hands of and proceeded to the large rocks where I climbed those as well.
Needless to say on the way back up he followed me. It was a GREAT workout. My legs the next day felt as if they could fall off. Of course when my mother found out what I did, she just about killed me. And I think I managed to scare the ++++ out of my husband while down at the falls. Apparently he doesn’t care how good of a shot I can get if it means I need to hang off of a boulder.
I did manage to get a picture of my husband dancing on a boulder =)
