MADE IN THE USA!!!
We tested this on a camping trip to New Mexico for the 4th of July Weekend. Our elevation was around 7500 feet and the low for the evening got down to the low 50s.
What I Liked
Easy setup and takedown: This was super easy to set up. Just unroll and use the integrated foot pump to quickly inflate the air mattress. Getting it packed up was just as easy. It has an exhaust port to easily deflate the system. Just roll up and pack away.
Intigrated Foot Pump: I love that it has a foot pump built in. No more worrying about forgetting the pump, or if you don’t have electricity, or blowing it up by mouth.
All-in-One Solution: The fact that this is not only your mattress, but also your sheet, blanket, and pillow all in one is pretty awesome. Just roll it all back up into itself and you will never have to forget about leaving a piece of your sleep system behind.
Bedding attaches to the pad: One of the worst things is having your bedding twist up and move around on you. The bedding with the Trekroll attaches to the pad and will not budge during the night. It stays in place all night long.
Pillow Sleeve: There is an integrated pillow sleeve to put the inflatable pillow (included) or clothing. I love this because it stops the pillow from moving around during the night.
Thick mattress: The pad inflates up to 4″ thick! For all you side sleepers out there (me) you will love the thickness of this pad!
What to Improve
Length of the air mattress: I’d like to see optional lengths for the air mattress and sleep system. My son who is 6′ 4″ was about 2″ too tall for the air mattress itself (but the bedding was perfect), so he ended up using a regular pillow to compensate. It would be nice to see this offered in short, regular, and tall.
Lower temperature-rated bedding: Currently the system is rated for late spring to early fall (2+ seasons). I’d like to see a system that could be taken down into the upper teens / lower 20s for those of us who like to do early and late winter camping or for those of us whose winters don’t drop below the teens, maybe a 3+ season system.
Overall Impression of the Trekroll
Perfect for camping, motorcycling, overlanding, and even just to have an extra bed at the house. The dual zipper function made it easy to get in and out of and to customize your sleeping preference (I like kicking a leg out after all). It was easy to unroll and roll back up into itself, and the integrated foot air pump made for a quick and easy set up at camp.
While the pad length wasn’t long enough for my son, the actual bedding was and he slept very well. I’d like to see this offered in different lengths to accommodate taller people, but overall it would work for just about everyone.
We actually love this so much, we plan on getting another one to use during our Route 66 Motorcycle trip in the fall of 2025. We will be pulling a small trailer so space will be precious and this will be perfect to save both space and weight.
