Snow….again! And how about that electric bill!?!?

Well, they are calling for another 1-3 inches of snow. What they really mean is 6-8 inches. Never fails. Personally, I am getting sick of this white crap and the cold weather. Usually, it doesn’t bother me too badly. But when my electric bills start running $450/month I start getting irritated rather quickly.

Here is what I don’t get, we keep the heater set at around 68 degrees. We have shrink-wrapped all the windows (which also have storm windows on them) and have thick blackout curtains on the main large window. I keep almost all lights off during the day and all light bulbs are CFL light bulbs. We turn off all “vampire electronics” at night or when we will be gone during the day. We actually have almost all of them on a power strip so we can turn them off easily by just turning off the power strip instead of unplugging lots of electronics daily. My small appliances in the kitchen stay unplugged unless I am using them, and we light fires when we are here to help the heater from kicking on so much. SO HOW IN THE HECK IS MY ELECTRIC BILL $450.00 this month?!?!?!?

It is now that I wished we lived on post again. In fact, I brought that up to hubby just last night. The next time we PCS we will move on post….maybe. We lived on post when they started doing mock billing and then when we actually started getting billed for electricity.
