This is going to be a crazy year as we get ready to leave for the Appalachian Trail in February 2025. To add to the craziness, and because my trail sister can’t hold her horses, she and I will be hiking the Pinhoti Trail beginning in late September.
So, let this be my official announcement, lol. I will be hiking the Pinohiti Trail this year!
It’s going to be a little crazy because, in April, I will be having a long-awaited and wanted Hysterectomy, followed by six weeks of recovery. It will then be a mad dash to get back in shape and regain my stamina (I currently go to the gym two days a week for an hour and three days a week for 2 hours).
We leave for South Dakota in late July for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. We will be riding there and back just as we did in 2022. We plan to take a different route to shake things up, so watch for that adventure.
Then, in late September, we will be on the Pinhoti Trail and expect to be done by the beginning or middle of November (we plan to go ahead and hike to Springer).
Once I get back home, it will be time to get things ready for Thanksgiving and then Christmas. We have already decided not to do a Christmas light show this year. We don’t want the stress and want to do things as a family.
Once the clock strikes Feb 1st, we will have 23 days before we are on the trail, so it will be a mad dash to make any last-minute changes and get the house and chickens in order for us to be gone for six months.
My Pinhoti Trail Gear
Anyway, I will post a Pinohti Trail Gear List Video and blog post soon! And, for my Tribe (my supporters), I will have the Garmin going while on the trail so you can see where I am. If you’re in the area, I would love to meet you!
