While we were in San Antonio for Christmas we decided to check out all the Missions along San Antonio’s Mission Trail. The most famous one, the Alamo, isn’t the only mission or the best preserved (in my opinion)!
There are a total of 5 missions.
The closest one to the Alamo is Mission Concepcion, which is one of the country’s oldest original stone churches. It was transferred from East Texas to where it stands today back in 1731. Other than the colorful geometric designs which have now faded, the church looks just as it did in the mid-1700’s!
While this one isn’t the favorite of all my missions, it has an awe factor that is undescribable! The history of this mission is truly remarkable and you can find more information on San Antonio’s website.
Church services are still held in this church. See below for service times.
Getting There & Info
Essentially you would start at the Alamo and follow the mission trail which would make this your second stop.
