Hiking and my husbands schedule

August 17, 2014 by Nutty Hiker 13 Comments

Hiking and my husbands schedule is a little crazy!

Trying to get into a routine around Jerry’s schedule over there has been hell! His chat time with me of course corresponds during the exact same time that I need to hike because that’s when it’s cooler outside. I will be happy when the cooler months arrive and I can hike during the middle of the day if I want!

For now I chat and hike. Yes it’s awkward, but at least he knows why I am not responding back right away. I also have the paid version of MapMyFitness so he is able to see when I am hiking. It allows him to feel at ease. I just have to remember that if I stop to rest to tell him, otherwise he will see that I am still and if it’s for any longer than a couple of seconds he starts blowing up Skype on my phone to make sure I am ok.

I sure do love that man! Anyway, post your miles below in the comments section. It is the last day to get those miles in before the new totals come out in the morning! I know for me, it’s crunch time because I am really far behind in my miles.

For the out of towners in NJ – 3.42 for Lisa Ponti,9.53 total for me (Rita – 6.53 yesterday, 3.0 today) and we had 9 year old Levi Scull with 8.75 yesterday. Your Mom Mikie Taylor) would have loved running with Levi & I down the beach yesterday, we were talking about his hunting and his shooting, I was telling him about your Mom’s place and her getting her first gun & shooting her turkey. I told him about your goal of walking/running and hiking the 1000 miles & the other all goal of 7785 miles – His comment, “All at once!!” – Oh to be 9!! I assured him not, but he said to add his miles to the total.

I was going to come this morning, but I’ve been helping some friends move. I am so sore I didn’t figure I could hang.

Keisha it’s ok. I ended up sleeping through my alarm because I was chatting with Jerry till late last night. I attempted to get some miles in about 10am and only made it a mile before I felt like I was going to die! LOL. I was hoping it would rain and cool things off so I could hike in the rain. I am going out this evening before the sun sets completely to try and push out as many miles as I can!
