It’s not too often I get to pamper myself. Between work, kids, more work, housework, and being exhausted I seem to have forgotten how important it is to pamper myself and relax. Stress can do a serious number on your mind, body, and soul.
On Wednesday I went to my favorite day spa, ReVive Med Spa in Killeen, and spent some time in their infrared dry sauna followed by an hour long facial. It’s amazing how relaxing a facial can be. As I got up to walk to the front, my body was like jello. I didn’t want to leave!
I realized that the stress from work and this upcoming deployment might be getting to me more than I realized. I know that if I am going to keep it together that I will need to remember to take time out for myself from time to time; at least monthly. It will help me rejuvenate and relax. I think a spa day once a month will be in order!
Thankfully, ReVive has a monthly membership plan, so the services I typically get on a monthly basis are less than what they would be without the membership. Plus the membership has other perks like discounts at other area businesses.
I may have to upgrade my membership during this deployment. After all, I want to make sure I look absolutely stunning for when my husband returns, plus I know I’ll need to de-stress.
I think a lot of spouses loose themselves during a deployment. It’s definitely easy to do. The stress eventually gets to you and you just let your self go. Then you become more stressed because you hate the way you look and feel. I am not saying you need to go to the spa, although I highly recommend it! However, you do need to remember to take time out for yourself, away from the kids and house. Do something that will help you relax and de-stress that is healthy for you.
What do you do to de-stress?
