Project Inspired is a book by Nicole Weider, who is the founder of the largest online community for Christian Teen Girls.
This book really caught my eye due to having two teen daughters. I honestly expected it to be more about how to stay true to your beliefs, however, the first half of the book talks about fashion and beauty.
While I love the fashion and beauty advice given in the book it almost contradicts her high school “story” at the beginning of the book where she talks about starting a new high school and how there were cliques and she couldn’t seem to fit in because everyone there wore designer clothes, had money, and drove fancy cars. She told it to make it seem as though she was being judged on what she wore and she didn’t believe that was fair, but then goes on to talk about designer fashion and how to dress.
Around chapter 5 she starts talking about etiquette and how to be a better person, so to speak. Which is what I assumed this book was about. I personally think that should have come before fashion and beauty tips.
Overall, it is a great book with a lot of useful tips for not only teens but adults as well! I won’t lie, I am going to use some of her tips to do a wardrobe makeover and to get back to being true to myself. I am also passing the book on to my girls.
