Several Museums offer active military and their families free admission.
More than 2,000 museums in all 50 states including the District of Columbia are offering free admission to the Military and their Dependants. These museums are part of Operation Appreciation: Blue Star Museums. This program allows active-duty military (including activated Guard and reserve) and up to five (5) of their immediate family members (spouse and children) free admission into the participating museums Memorial Day through Labor Day every year!
Best of all there is no limit to the museums in which you may visit. Also, the active-duty military member need not be present to enjoy this benefit. If your loved one is deployed, you can still gain free access to these museums by showing your Dependant ID card.
What a better way to spend the summer than taking the kids to a museum! And it won’t cost you anything but time and a little bit of gas! It will definitely beat the summer boredom blues and allow your children to learn in the process (shhh no need to tell them)!
What You Should Know Before Going
Only Active Duty and their dependents may get in for free.
The admission is only good for the active duty member and up to 5 family members.
