It’s been 2 months and I had to listen to this….

December 29, 2014 by Nutty Hiker Last Modified: March 1, 20223 Comments

Well, my husband is home from deployment….yippee!! He came home about a week before Thanksgiving (5 months early). Between getting ready for him to come home and then doing last-minute holiday prep, it’s been almost 2 months since I went hiking last.

Today though, I decided enough was enough and since my husband is on leave, I dragged him along. Apparently, he thought we were only going to do a simple, easy, flat 2-mile hike in order for me to “ease” back into it. I guess there was a lack of communication because my easy hike is roughly 4 miles. This is something I thought he knew. The complaining started as soon as we got to the trailhead for his version of the easy hike and I told him to keep driving. The complaining continued through the hike with comments like, “you never said we were walking to Austin” and “won’t your Dad think it’s funny when we knock on his door and say surprise we just walked here” (btw, my Dad lives 3 hours away). A little dramatic.

After our hike, while my husband got ready to go to his meeting at the Fire Department, I made myself a cup of herbal tea. I have been on this kick lately of having a cup or two every night, even the hubby loves having a cup. Recently I was sent a VoxBox from Influenster and in it was Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Herbal Tea. I am a huge fan of mint tea so this was just up my alley. It seriously tastes like I had a candy cane in my green tea!!!!

Enjoying my herbal tea

I was sweating about 2 minutes into it lol. I had to take my beanie and my gloves off. We will see how I do tomorrow morning when it is 40 lol.
