If you have been around me long enough, you know that the week leading up to Halloween (and on Halloween) I hike in costume. I also make those who hike with me, hike in costume!
Today not only did I finally get to hike with Heather, I got to hike with her in costume. It was long overdue since I hiked with her husband a couple of years ago!
I dressed as a nun and she dressed as a fairy. Unfortunately, while I took a selfie, I forgot to actually get a picture of us in costume!
We only hiked about 1.8 miles since she was wearing Dakota. I should emphasize that is her infant son, not some kind of new clothing accessory.
I should also point out that I told her to make sure and grab a camelback. Thankfully her husband had one in the garage. Unfortunately, it was from his military days like 100 years ago and she failed to clean it. She thought she might die from ingesting the funk of Iraq, ruck marches, and who knows what else; I am happy to report that she didn’t and is still alive!
She did tell me that next time we can definitely go longer! I wonder if she knows what she just got herself into by telling me that!?

Funny. I’ll have to go back and find out the story behind the costume hikes. It’ s my first time here, but what a great Nun costume. Ugh, the camelback. From a family FULL of military men with camelbacks — YUCK! lol
