13th Birthday Sock Hop For My Oldest Daughter

My oldest daughter turned 13 today and decided to make her party a 13th Birthday Sock Hop.

We had her Birthday party on Saturday, the theme she chose was a 1950’s sock hop. I was completely surprised to find that party stores did not have many decorations. It seems like the “sock hop” is becoming popular again.

I was even more surprised to find that the bakeries around here did not have a 1950’s themed cake (we went to about 13 different bakeries).

The plan was to have the party outside (which we did) and my girls and I would dress in poodle skirts. I was able to make their poodle skirts but ran out of time to make mine :( .

All of Britney’s friends showed up in proper 1950s attire. The boy’s hair was even slicked back. Very cute. My ex-husband dressed like Elvis….go figure, but they all loved it and wanted a picture with him.

All in all, it turned out to be a great Birthday party. My daughter was extremely happy and me well I was just plain worn out!
