Vont Spark Headlamp Review & Giveaway

June 15, 2020 by Nutty Hiker Last Modified: March 22, 20221 Comment

This Vont Spark Headlamp post & giveaway is sponsored by VONT.

Vont contacted me about reviewing their Spark Headlamp and I have some good news! One lucky reader will get their own 2 pack Vont Spark Headlamp; you can enter below!

Vont Spark Headlamp (2pk)

My first impression of the Vont Spark Headlamp: Wow beefy and lightweight!

Once I received my package and opened it up I was pretty impressed as I was looking at 2 beefy looking, but lightweight, headlamps. I immediately put batteries in and quickly figured how to work it without looking at instructions (I learn best that way).

I love the fact that the Vont Spark Headlamp has 3 levels of brightness for the main light and a 45-degree tilt. The headband is comfortable and stays in place well.

It is super easy to switch between regular and red modes by a simple long press of the button. There is nothing worse than fussing over activating the red light when you are in your tent and needing to use the bathroom at 2 am; you won’t have that issue with this headlamp, which is really nice.

Speaking of being able to see, this headlamp produces some amazing light at 200 lumens (even though I usually prefer at least 350 lumens) at night with a runtime of up to 90 hours according to the company (I am currently still testing the runtime and will update this as soon as I get a number).

On my scale, it comes in at 1.76 oz with no batteries and 3 oz with batteries.

Overall, the Vont Spark Headlamp is a great headlamp that is lightweight and easy to use (oh and super affordable with a lifetime warranty)!

What I didn’t like

No lockout feature – I would love to see the company add a lockout feature so the light does not accidentally turn on while stowed away. I will say that it does take some pressure to turn it on, so I don’t see it turning on easily while stowed, but it still could happen.

Uses Batteries – I much prefer a rechargeable device over the use of batteries. It’s a personal preference for me simply because I do not like carrying batteries when I hike. I would love to see them come out with a rechargeable version! UPDATE: They have made a rechargeable version (currently it is in the testing phase)!
