We officially entered the Cheaha Wilderness area. We did a nero today because we wanted to get into camp early enough to have plenty of time to set up camp and get into our bags before the temperatures dropped again.

The trail was pretty easygoing, with only a couple of blow-downs to manage.
Earning a Trail Name
Jerry officially earned a trail name (Sir Fartsalot was just what I called him as a joke). It’s no secret that since retiring from the Army 5 years ago, that his belly looks like he has been brewing a 5-year-old baby in there. Because of this belly, his pants always slide down and he constantly has to keep pulling them up.It doesn’t matter if he has a belt or if the pants (like his hiking pants) have a tie or not…they always start falling down.
He made the joke that maybe he needs to buy some suspenders. Turns out he really does need them, but we were in the middle of the wilderness and no Walmart in sight, so he tied his pants to his backpack belt to make temporary suspenders….and just like that, his trail name was born. He shall now be known as Suspenders from here on out!
