What I am Reviewing

Today I am getting a chance to review a waterproof sherpa fleece-lined blanket from Oceas. I am actually pretty excited they reached out. I love finding new gear for camping and road-tripping and this blanket fits that bill (I will get more into all the reasons I love it below).

What I Liked

Waterproof ripstop polyester backing – The Oceas waterproof sherpa blanket backing allows this blanket to be so versatile. Wrap up during a winter snowstorm, use it as a picnic blanket, a beach blanket, or just wrap up around the campfire. The waterproof backing not only keeps the wetness out but works as a great dirt/sand barrier as well.

Sherpa fleece – Oh the warmth of the sherpa fleece and the softness is just indescribable. Despite having individual climate control in the truck, I still seem to get chilly on long rides (mostly because my husband cranks his temperature down to “when did we reach Antarctica”). This makes the ride so much more enjoyable. It was also great wrapping up around the campfire at night.

Durable – While I haven’t used it very long, you can immediately tell the Oceas waterproof sherpa blanket is super durable. The ripstop polyester backing is thick and I have no hesitation taking it out into the woods with me on a camping trip, that’s for sure!

No special washing instructions – It is machine washer and dryer friendly which means I just threw it in the washer and straight into the drier. No need to worry about special care instructions. I hate doing laundry as it is, so simple is better!

Warranty – They give you a 1-year replacement warranty if something happens. You don’t really see a warranty like that with blankets, so that was nice.

What to Improve

Colors – As of right now it only comes in black and blue. I would love to see more colors offered, especially like a hunter orange which would also make it useful in an emergency situation by allowing you to be spotted easier from the air should you need to be rescued.

Snaps – I would like to see some snaps put on it so you can snap it around your neck or snap it closed. I’m not really sure how those could be incorporated, but having some way to have it stay in place while you move or when it is windy, would be awesome!

Overall Impression

The Oceas Waterproof Sherpa Blanket is a versatile blanket that makes a great addition for anyone that likes camping, RVing, or road trips. It’s super soft and cozy warm all while having a waterproof backing so you can lay it on the ground without worry. It’s the ultimate road trip blanket! It is somewhat loud (or crinkly as I have seen others call it). I would expect this due to the backing and am not bothered by it. This is a blanket made for the outdoors, not inside your cozy bedroom. To me, the noise is perfectly acceptable for the purpose in which it was meant to achieve.

Where to Buy
