San Antonio’s Mirror Maze & Vault Laser Challenge

December 30, 2016 by Nutty Hiker Last Modified: February 24, 20228 Comments

Mirror Maze San Antonio

While we were in San Antonio, we took the kids to one of the many tourist traps. I will say, though, we had a ton of fun within the mirror maze. It was definitely not your run of the mill carnival mirror maze. No, this maze was AWESOME!

The vault laser challenge was just like any other laser room you have ever done, so I will not spend any time reviewing that or talking about it. The Mirror Maze is the spotlight of this attraction.

The Mirror Maze is actually three mazes in one. In fact, there are thousands of mirrors and as we quickly learned, it doesn’t matter how many times you go through it, you will never have the same experience.

You start off being handed gloves to wear (so you do not leave smudges on the mirrors). You will definitely run into mirrors, so use your hands to feel your way through. There will be a point in time (or two) that you feel like your hands are lying to you and there isn’t really a mirror there! The optical illusions are just that amazing!

Just as you think you have made it through the maze, the attendants hand you special glasses and turn you around to head back through it. Guys, I have never done acid, but I assume that’s what it would feel like! Interestingly enough on my way back through, I ended up finding a completely different way out and new rooms to explore! You will finally end the maze the same door you originally started from.

Oh, the best part? Your ticket is good for the entire day. Do it as many times as you want y’all!

Our Thoughts

Totally worth the experience! The kids (teenagers) loved it and we all had a great time! Going through as a family or with friends makes it that much more enjoyable as you try and find each other (trust me you will get separated)!

The entire reason we even went to this is because my husband wanted to do it lol! I will say that I had a BLAST (as did the kids)!

I’ve never done one of these before – looks like fun, but it would probably take me forever to find the way out!
