Flintstone’s Bedrock City, Arizona

July 11, 2015 by Nutty Hiker Last Modified: March 17, 202210 Comments

We stumbled upon this cute little attraction on our way to the Grand Canyon. It actually popped up on our roadtrippers map when I had planned our road trip, as a nearby attraction; so I added it as a stop. It’s called Flintstone’s Bedrock City not to be confused with Flintstone’s Bedrock City Theme Park which is located in South Dakota and closed in 2015.

At first, I wasn’t sure that we were going to stop; but growing up Flintstone’s was one of my favorite cartoons. Plus, what was the chance I would be back out this way to see it again?

We were somewhat skeptical at first due to some of the reviews we read on roadtrippers.com stating it was run down and everything was locked up.

Turns out that wasn’t the case at all! It looked like they had just repaired and fixed up most of the “attractions”. We were able to walk into almost every single “house”. It really felt like we were in a Flintstone’s cartoon!

Anyone ever notice how I always put my husband in jail anytime we stop somewhere? I think this will be our “what we are known for” picture lol.

It was really neat being able to go inside the buildings. Especially Fred’s house.

And of course his next door neighbors house =)

My husband always has to touch stuff.

And I always have to pose with weird things!

Or inside weird things like a large crawl through snake (which if you’ve read my blog for any amount of time, you know how I feel about snakes)!

There are a lot more buildings than what I have posted, but what fun would it be if I showed you EVERYTHING!? Get out and explore it for yourself!

Oh and something else that is pretty neat? If you have 2 million bucks lying around you can buy the place, as it is for sale.

I’m so glad y’all went there. I heard they’re closing it down after this year.

I didn’t realize such a place existed!? How fun! We’re planning to make it to the Grand Canyon within the next 1-3 years, so I’ll make sure this is on our must-visit list. Looks like a lot of fun! :)
