Q. My husband’s orders are messed up. Is this common?

I am stuck here at Rucker while my husband PCS’s to his post because the Army messed up his orders. Is this common?

A. Define common. In my personal opinion no, it’s not something that is common per se. Does it happen? Obviously, as you have found out, yes.

The Military is far from perfect and is still run by human’s (although some would beg to differ with me when it comes to the Air Force). Human’s are not perfect and can cause errors. In the 11 years I have been a Military wife, we have never had PCS orders “messed up” (unless you count just recently when they put my husbands SSN as someone else’s, the SSN they listed on the orders was nowhere close to what his is).

We have, however, had the Military mess up our pay which took a couple of pay periods to get straightened out and us paid the back pay from it.

To have the orders amended, he will need to go to personnel or enlisted personnel management if he is still at in processing. If he is already at his unit, he needs to go to his Battalion S1. If he is still at Rucker, he needs to go to enlisted personnel management before he out processes.
