How do you choose the right print size? The session is done and you are looking over your gorgeous pictures or maybe you are looking to buy a piece of fine art to hang in your home.
How do you decide what print size(s) you need? What print size will look best hanging in a hallway? What about hanging above a couch or fireplace?
Typically the best print sizes for hanging in a hallway or elsewhere on a wall (other than above big pieces of furniture) are 8×10 and 11×14. If you plan on placing it on a desk, then a 5×7 is the way to go.
For pictures that will be hanging above a big piece of furniture or above a fireplace you definitely don’t want to go lower than a 16×24. Doing so will make it hard to see unless of course, it is part of a bigger collage.
There are many factors that go into choosing the right print size for your space as well as how and where to hang your new artwork, but for simplicity let’s look at a visual at how each common size looks hanging above a sofa in the living room.
