It took 31 days, but we made it to Georgia!
We started out the day back in the ATV park, but thankfully it wasn’t for very long.

We started the day with a climb down a ladder. Even though the ladder was a little wobbly, it was very secure. It really helped that there was a pair of extra hands to pass gear to instead of having to wear it or lower it down yourself.
Our first climb offered a breathtaking view and excellent photo opportunities. (Since this was on private property, I am unable to share pictures publicly, but we made sure to capture some for our personal photo frame at home.)
Once we left the private property area, we started running into weird signs that said “restricted area” and “danger: firearms in use.” We assumed there was a gun range nearby but really had no idea what the signage was about, as nothing showed on Google Maps.

The climb today felt like it lasted forever, but we made it to the top of Flagpole Mountain, where there is, indeed, an old flagpole (can you spot it in the photo below?).

Shortly after, we crossed the Alabama/Georgia state line!!!!!

We made it to the shelter before dark. Even though today was filled with rocks and more rocks and a climb that seemed to never end, it wasn’t a terrible day.
