Vont LED Camping Lanterns Review

April 23, 2021 by Nutty Hiker Last Modified: April 26, 20211 Comment

This post sponsored by Vont. All opinions are my own!

Vont reached out to me again asking if they could send over a 2 pack of their Vont LED camping lanterns to get my thoughts AND also let me know that my suggestion to have their Vont Spark Headlamp become rechargeable was granted! So, they also sent me over a pack of their rechargeable headlamps! For those, I will update the original post with a more in-depth review and give a summary here within this post.

Vont LED Camping Lantern

Vont LED Camping Lantern Set

First Impression

Wow, these feel super light, love that it is compact, but the plastic feels cheaply made.

Specs

Functions: On/Off only

Water Resistant: Rated at IP44
Lumens: 140
Light Temp: Cool White
Battery: 3 AA
Battery Life: Up to 90 hours
Dimension: Diameter: 3.4 in ; Collapsed Height: 4.8 in; Extended Height: 7.20 in
360 Degree Lighting
Made from aircraft-grade materials

What I Liked

Brightness: With 30 LED’s and 140 Lumens, it is bright for such a compact lantern.

Light Direction: It has 360 degree lighting allowing it to light up a large area around you.

Compact: I love that it is compact and collapses into itself.

Lightweight: I love that it is super lightweight. This would work great for go-bags, shorter backpacking trips, or to keep in a car.

Handles: I am a huge fan of handles on lanterns because I love having the option of being able to hang them.

What To Improve

The first thing I would like to see is a rechargeable version of this (y’all know I don’t like batteries lol). I would also like to see the handles wrap to the bottom as a way to “lock” the lantern closed.

Overall Impression

It is super bright, compact. and lightweight. While the plastic feels cheaply made, it is one tough cookie and so far no problems. According to Vont, it is constructed with aircraft-grade materials that can survive a 10-foot drop and being temporarily submerged under water. It will make a great camping lantern and for those that are not trying to go ultralight, even a great backpacking lantern. The best part is they offer a lifetime warranty, so if something happens just contact them to get it replaced.

Where to Buy the Vont LED Camping Lantern

You can purchase the 2 pack of VONT LED Camping Lanterns on Amazon.

Summary of the Vont Rechargeable Headlamp

Vont Spark Headlamp Rechargable

Overall a great product. It is lightweight, only weighing 2.72 oz on my scale. You could make it lighter by replacing the headband if you wanted. This headlamp will be what my son will use on our upcoming Appalachian Trail hike where it will be put to the true test. This is the upgraded version of the battery-operated one which I reviewed. The full review of this headlamp can be found in that review.

How wonderful that a company not only listened to your feedback but found a way to make the change happen – great job!
