So my third child Harlee (with a name like that I should have guessed the attitude she would have), realizes on her own that she has been so “bad” that she thinks she is getting a lump of coal for Christmas.
This video was taken back in 2009 while at a Choir Christmas Concert for my oldest daughter. We were waiting for the concert to start when the topic of what everyone wants for Christmas came up. I asked Harlee what she thought she was getting for Christmas and she said a lump of coal. My next thought was to ask her why, but I wanted to record it, so I took out my phone to record what was said next.
When I asked her at the end if she thought she would be better next year, her answer was “that’s a maybe.”
To get the video to play: Please wait about 10 seconds, then press the play button (may need to press it a couple of times). Not sure why it does that!
Harlee is now 15 (almost 16) and not much has changed, except the attitude…it’s MUCH worse! Sometimes I think I should have named her Ann or Mildred. Those seem like “safe” names.
Does anyone else believe that their name defines their attitude? I wonder if a study has ever been done on that?
I can’t play it for some reason
Are you on a computer or cell? I just realized for some reason it will not play if you are on a cell phone =(
Wait, I just got it to play on my cell, took a while though before it would work. Not sure why.I had to keep pressing the play button like 10 times lol.
I remember seeing this when you recorded that. It’s still “so Harlee”!
Look how cute they both were though! ❤️?❤️
Look at that itty-bitty! So cute :D
I am not sure if the name defines the attitude ! I was a pretty fiesty daughter to my mom especially in those teen years ?. My name means the rising sun. Sweet post
I couldn’t watch the video but I have a 10year old and I’m just glad it’s not just at our house. Yikes, that attitude can be maddening at times. Sometimes I need affirmation that I’m not the only mom who has a little “feisty one” at home. Thank you.
I don’t know about being defined by a name. I have an Isaac, which means “happy” and he always is. I also have a Hannah and an Ella, and they’re just … well, them! My 7-year-old daughter thought she was getting a hoverboard for Christmas this year … she was right, just not from us. The grandparents surprised her with it last weekend!
