A new change to the TRICARE program now allows TRICARE enrollees to receive their Flu Shot at participating Network Pharmacies for free, even if you are TRICARE Prime.
This is great news for those who live far from a Military Treatment Facility (MTF), or just don’t want to deal with the hassle of going to an MTF just for a simple flu shot.
There are plenty of network pharmacies to choose from. Make sure to call first, to ensure that they have the vaccine on hand and to find out if you need an appointment. Make sure to bring your Military ID with you when going.
TRICARE Prime Enrollee:
You may get the seasonal flu vaccine from any TRICARE network provider who is licensed to give the vaccine or from a participating TRICARE retail network pharmacy. There’s no copay for the vaccine.
If you choose to get the seasonal flu vaccine from a non-network TRICARE-authorized provider, you may be responsible for the point of service deductible (Individual $300/Family $600) and 50% cost share
TRICARE Standard/Extra Beneficiary:
You may get the seasonal flu vaccine from any TRICARE-authorized provider (network or non-network) who is licensed to give the vaccine or from a participating TRICARE retail network pharmacy. The Standard/Extra deductibles and cost shares are waived.
TRICARE For Life Beneficiary:
Your flu shot is free, if you are enrolled in Medicare Part B and your provider accepts Medicare assignment. +You may also get your seasonal flu vaccine from a participating TRICARE retail network pharmacy.
