Due to BRAC the school house here on Edgewood is moving to Fort Lee. Our PCS was suppose to take place August of 2011. Today I got a call from my Soldier, saying baby I just got asked a serious question. My first thought was well this should be good. See, he NEVER calls me from work.
“Baby”, he says, “How quickly do you want to move to Fort Lee”? Well my reply was “tomorrow”. It’s no secret that I am ready to get out of Maryland. Actually, it’s not really Maryland that I despise. It’s this house. “Well”, he says, “I was asked today if we would be willing to move immediately to Fort Lee, as in next month”. “Sure”, I said. “Baby, you understand that they are under staffed and it will mean longer hours”, he asks. “I understand, tell him yes”, I say. “I can’t, he is already gone for the day, but I will in the morning. We just enrolled Britney in Basketball and the kids are still in school, are you sure about this”, he asks. After a little more convincing, he comes to realize that yes I really am sure about this.
Now most couples usually have at least 3 months to plan their move. If this goes through, I may be lucky to have 1 month, and it will mean moving right before the holiday’s start. Of course hubby will be telling them that we will only do this assuming that they have housing ready and available for us to move into immediately down there. If not, then it’s a no go.
