So when I decided to do a deployment diary (blog) this time, I was going to wait until he actually left to start it. Then I thought, why wait? The deployment process starts way before he actually deploys!
So this is my first post in my deployment diary.
He left for NTC a couple of days ago. He will be gone for 30ish days.
For those who are either new to military life or just read my blog because you find it oh so ever entertaining ;) NTC stands for National Training Center and is located at Fort Irwin, California in the Mojave Desert. It is the largest US Army desert warfare training area and is where Soldiers typically go before a deployment to train for the upcoming deployment.
Yes, that means 30 days of being without him right before he deploys! For me that means I finally will get a good nights rest. I love my husband to death but his constant tossing, turning, and twitching leave me sleep deprived.
During this time I also have to deal with getting our roof replaced, and repairing other parts of the house. That is the most stressful part for me. I am ready for everything to be fixed and this insurance claim to be closed.
I also need to start my pre-deployment checklist and mark off the things that I can get done without him present. The pre-deployment craziness is just well crazy and hectic! In fact, for me, it’s more stressful than the actual deployment itself on some levels.
This was us on our date the night before he left. We finally went to go see the new Star Wars!
Today has been tiring. The roof was supposed to be replaced today (or begin anyway) but the foreman called in sick. No real biggie for me, I will just be glad when it’s all done.
